Virtual - details to follow
10am until 12.30
We are delighted to announce that the YCLF September event will be going ahead. As with so many things this year due to COVID-19 we will be holding a virtual event. As has been the case in the last few years the September event will focus on young professionals. This year we have decided to open the floor to you to present on any aspect of the profession you are passionate about. Each presentation will be strictly limited to 10 minutes so you will need to be focused and concise in order to get your message across. No questions will be taken to allow as many presentations as possible but do feel free to include your details at the end of your presentation to allow people to contact you directly. This really is a fantastic opportunity to show case and further develop your presentation skills and to practise delivering complicated information in a simple manner which is vital when dealing with clients and stakeholders. We are aware that some people may be on furlough, however, don’t forget that CPD is allowed as part of the furlough scheme. So don’t let it stop you from taking part and demonstrating your passion for your career despite the currently challenging times. If you would like to deliver a presentation please contact Liz Hart (Liz@lithos.co.uk) or Julia Reynolds (JHReynolds@nhbc.co.uk) with your title and a short (one paragraph) summary. The virtual conference will be on 25th September between 10am and 12 noon. Ten, 10-minute slots are available, so will be operating a first come first allocated process, although we may have to limit numbers per company.

Agenda: YCLF Meeting: Christmas Case Studies
University of York - Environment Building
09.30
The September YCLF event will once again be focused on young professionals with the theme of this year’s event being non-standard receptors when assessing both greenfield and brownfield land. We all immediately consider human health and controlled waters as critical receptors, but we are often less familiar with the importance of other receptors such as coastal waters, archaeology and local, national and internationally designated ecological sites.
September’s seminar will look at how to identify the significance of these non-standard receptors in land quality assessments, how to undertake risk evaluation and ultimately how to ensure remediation is designed with these receptors in mind.
The conference will be held at the University of York Environment Building on 13th September, registration from 9.30.
Please forward this email on to your Junior Engineers / Officers and encourage them to come along.
