Technical Meetings and Conferences

What’s Happening?

Typically YCLF meetings are held four times each year (February, May, September and November).

YCLF is committed to providing ‘live’ events when possible, but we will also host occasional webinars on ‘hot’ topics. We always welcome the opportunity to work in collaboration with other organisations.

YCLF produces an occasional newsletter flagging topical issues and providing news about YCLF activities.

You can browse our newsletter archive here.

We aim to make all of our technical events free to attend.

Sponsorship and financial support of YCLF events is controlled by the YCLF Steering Group.

A core principle of YCLF presentations is that there will be no direct marketing.

See below a list of upcoming and past YCLF events.👇🏻

Soil: understand the worth before it's gone

Managing soil on construction sites and throughout the development phase can be complex and challenging.  Get it right and it is cost effective, supports sustainable development, circular economy and can reduce effects of climate change.

Get it wrong and none of these are achieved, just a serious financial drain, with some far-reaching legal ramifications.

Join YCLF at the Carriage Works in Leeds on 3rd October 2024 and make sure we are all getting it right!

Soil: also commonly referred to as Earth.

Soils are a finite and valuable resource, so reviewing the options for how and if soils can be reused within a construction project is essential from initial strategic planning through to project delivery.

However, get this wrong and projects could face audits, environmental fines or tax evasion fines.

This seminar looks at what progress is being made in soil protection, best practice for developing material management plans and case studies that consider practical application of some of the options.
